“All Good Things” July 2023.

Hello, my name is Richard. And I am Carole Baggaleys Husband.

I am sure that you will have noted Carole including me in her previous posts since she started the Life Tides blog. I am creating this blog on Carole’s behalf because it has been a while since she last posted.

So what do I mean by “All Good Things”? Well, there are many quotes and instances where this phrase has been used throughout time it means different things to different people. However, here is my personal take on it.

“All My Good Things” are the many years filled with joy and happiness Carole and I shared together since we first met nearly 40 years ago. This year will be our 37th Wedding anniversary in October and Carole’s 63rd Birthday in December. Sad to say, it will be my 75th Birthday this year, and yes, I was accused of being a cradle snatcher all those years ago. As previous followers of Life Tides will be aware, the prognosis delivered to Carole and me in January this year regarding her Lymphoma was the news that we had both been dreading. Carole being Carole, she was determined that further treatments would not continue and would accept palliative care from that day onwards. Be it the weeks or a few months. She had been given. We vowed to enjoy everything we could together and assembled a short bucket list together.

You will all have seen in the April Blog “Making the Most of Time” how Carole was approaching her limited time and our future together due to this dam disease. So here we are now, 7 months on, and time is changing life very quickly for us now. I will be posting again with more details. And updates from The Cats and our times and adventures with photos from April 2023 to the present just as soon as I am able to do so. Carole left very clear instructions. For me, I will follow them through.

I think you all know what I am about to state, so I will leave other things until the next Blog in September 2023.

Sadly my Darling wife Carole passed away peacefully in her sleep during the early hours on Wednesday19th July 2023, at home with me.

Rest in Peace, My darling, my best friend, my Wife.

It is sad that we have lost Carole. But even if it hurts you and us to know that she is not with us anymore the best way to get through the pain is to share memories. The best way to remember one you love is to remember those times of joy . ❤️ sending you an e-hug 🤗

  6. So sorry to hear this news Richard. I was a friend of Carole’s from the early days of Zwift and we used to do several group rides together. She was always so competitive on the rides and was good fun to chat to on the txt. Sadly i never met you both in person but she will be sorely missed. Such a lovely lady ….RIP Carole
